Seminary Admissions

Financial Aid Process

Degree-Seeking Students

Your admission application will be considered, along with your FAFSA or other forms, for North Park scholarships and grants and for federal student loans.

In some cases, the Office of Seminary Admission may ask you to provide other information to assist in making aid determinations. The only scholarships that require additional applications are the Presidential and Mosaic Leadership scholarships.

FAFSA

If you are a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen, you should fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in addition to your application for admission.

International Students

Complete the International Student Financial Resources Form.

Certificate Students

If you are from the United States and plan on enrolling in a certificate program, you may want to complete the Seminary Financial Aid Form to be considered for North Park need-based grants. Certificate students are not eligible for federal student loans.

International students should complete the International Student Financial Resources Form.

Timeline for awarding financial aid

After you have been admitted to North Park and we have received your FAFSA information and any other scholarships applications, the Office of Seminary Admissions will review your entire application, including your academic record, recommendations, and written materials.

We will then send you an award letter detailing your financial aid package. It will include the maximum amount of funds you are eligible to receive from a variety of sources, including North Park and federal and state student loans and grants, if applicable.

You will have the option of accepting or declining any of the aid money included in your financial aid package. If you decide not to accept any portion of it, we may offer the funding to another student. After receiving your award letter, you will have three weeks to accept or reject your financial aid package. In order to accept and declare your intention to enroll at the Seminary, you must make your tuition deposit.

Deadlines

April 15. Priority deadline for summer and fall semester enrollment. All application materials and FAFSA information must be received by Seminary Admissions.

November 1. Priority deadline for January-term and spring semester enrollment. All application materials and FAFSA information must be received by Seminary Admissions.

Applications received after these priority deadlines will be considered for available funding after other awards have been given.

Additional Details

After your financial aid package has been created, you can view your financial aid information online at any time through WebAdvisor, North Park’s online student services portal.

Please note that North Park scholarships and grants awarded in your financial aid package can only be applied to your tuition bill; they cannot be applied to rent or other fees or expenses. You may be eligible for federal student loans that could be used to pay for additional expenses.

Any financing that you plan to receive from private organizations or groups—such as a Church Matching Grant, outside scholarships, private loans, or employer reimbursement programs—may not be included in your initial package from North Park. Contact Seminary Admissions to discuss how these funds may be applied to your account.

Deferring Admission and Financial Aid

While you have the option to request to defer your admission to North Park Theological Seminary, scholarships and grants awarded are offered for the start date you indicated on your application for admission.

These awards may not be deferred with your admission. If you defer, you may reapply for scholarships and grants for the semester in which you will enroll.

Maintain eligibilty

In order to maintain eligibility for financial aid, including student loans and grants, please note the following:

  • You must maintain satisfactory academic progress in your program of study
  • At least half-time attendance (four credit hours per semester for graduate students) is required
  • You may not be in default on any federal student loans
